In connection with Paul Cunningham Songwriters Workshop, there is the Robert Allen Award, a cash award of $2,500 to the participant who writes the "best" song, as voted by an outside panel. This award is given thanks to the generosity of Patty Allen, wife of the late ASCAP songwriter member, Bob Allen, writer of such classic Pop songs as "Chances Are," "It's Not for Me to Say" and the seasonal favorite, "Home for the Holidays." The ASCAP Foundation Robert Allen Award is presented annually to an ASCAP songwriter participating in ASCAP's New York Extended Songwriting Workshop who upholds the high standard set by Bob Allen in the writing of popular songs.
