The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) has nominated two ASCAP members and one of ASCAP's global affiliates for the prestigious Orange British Academy Film Awards in the Original Music category. Congratulations go to Trent Reznor, Howard Shore and Spanish composer Alberto Iglesias (SGAE), nominated for their scores for The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Hugo and Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, respectively.
Watch the official BAFTA nominations announcement, made by British actor Daniel Radcliffe and actress Holliday Grainger.
Reznor's score to the hugely popular Stieg Larsson adaptation The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo has already earned him and co-composer Atticus Ross nominations for Critics Choice Awards and Golden Globes; Shore's music for the fantastical family mystery Hugo was nominated for both awards, as well. Alberto Iglesias is no stranger to awards season - his lauded music for The Kite Runner and The Constant Gardener both garnered Oscar and BAFTA nominations, and his score to the latter earned him two World Soundtrack Awards in 2006.
Winners will be announced Sunday, February 12, 2012 at London's Royal Opera House.
Congratulations to all of our nominees!
