ASCAP hosted a star-studded Grammy Brunch, honoring the ASCAP members nominated for 2012 Grammys. Best Contemporary Christian Album nominees Gungor, Best Country Song nominee Deana Carter and multiple Grammy winner Paul Epworth mixed and mingled with celebs and industry elite at the third annual soiree.

Brentwood-Benson Music Publishing recently announced the addition of Grammy-nominated and Dove Award winning producer/songwriter Rusty Varenkamp to its esteemed roster of staff writers.

At a #1 Party in Nashville in early January, ASCAP congratulated Dave Barnes on the success of his song "God Gave Me You," recorded by Blake Shelton. The song topped Billboard's Hot Country chart for three weeks and also earned Barnes a Grammy nomination.

Earlier this year, contemporary Christian rock superstars MercyMe joined the ranks of ASCAP members who have supported American troops overseas by taking part in a USO tour. We asked the band's bassist Nathan Cochran to reflect on MercyMe's trip to the Middle East.

Two-time GMA Male Vocalist of the Year and multiple GRAMMY Award nominee Brandon Heath rolled out his latest music video, "The Light In Me," on August 17. This is Heath’s second single from his chart-topping third studio project, Leaving Eden.

Music industry veteran Jackie Patillo has been appointed to the newly created position of GMA Executive Director. Patillo will report to the GMA Board of Directors, facilitating day to day operations, as well as working to ensure the organization's mission and strategies continue to grow.

ASCAP celebrated the writers and publishers of "Stronger," Mandisa's No.1 hit on the Billboard Hot Christian Songs chart, with a reception in Franklin, Tenn. Written by Ben Glover, David Garcia and Chris Stevens, the song marks Glover's 11th trip to the top of the charts and Garcia's first. Publishers Brentwood-Benson Publishing and EMI CMG Publishing were also honored.
