ASCAP Harry Chapin Humanitarian Award
Award is named after the late singer, songwriter and social activist, Harry Chapin, and is given for humanitarian contributions.
Chapin, who wrote and performed such pop/folk classics as "Cat's In The Cradle," "Taxi," "W*O*L*D" and "Songman," was an early music industry advocate for the world hunger movement. He was a founder of the non-profit organization, World Hunger Year (WHY), and tirelessly gave of his time and talent to perform at countless benefits and events in support of a variety of social causes.
