Peter & Gordon

Peter & Gordon

Impressed with "500 Miles" and more at their residency at London's Pickwick Club, an EMI A&R man signed Peter Asher and Gordon Waller in 1963. Their friend Paul McCartney penned their debut recording, "World Without Love," which topped the charts throughout the globe. Peter & Gordon amassed 10 U.S. Top 40 hits before they moved on to individual projects in 1968. Asher went on to a distinguished and continuing career as an artist manager and Grammy-winning record producer, and Waller's stage and recording work generated tremendous accolades. They reunited to great acclaim in 2005.

"...Peter (Asher) and Gordon (Waller) should be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for many reasons, including their vocal prowess. They also are part of rock history, as they were the only group Paul McCartney wrote a hit song for – 'A World Without Love' – while the Beatles were in business." – Fox News
