Birdmonster

Guitarist David Klein and bassist Justin Tenuto, childhood friends from San Diego, spent their youth jamming out to heavy metal together. When the pair moved up the coast to Santa Barbara, they met future Birdmonster drummer Zach Winter and together the trio headed still farther north to San Francisco. It was there that they met Peter Arcuni, a recent Rhode Island transplant, and almost spontaneously, Birdmonster was formed.

Birdmonster's eponymous EP and debut full-length, No Midnight, were released independently. No Midnight was subsequently re-released by the now defunct spinART Records and was followed by extensive touring in the US, including shows with Art Brut, Cold War Kids, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah and The National. The band signed with The FADER Label in late 2007 and released a sophomore LP, From the Mountain to the Sea, in 2008.
