Anwan Glover

Anwan Glover, born and raised in Washington, DC is MC and founder of the popular area go-go band, The Backyard Band. Go-Go relies heavily on percussion and "call-and-response" with audience members. The Backyard Band's sound is an electrifying mix of hip-hop, bassy rock, and heavy percussion sounds. Also an actor, Glover had a recurring role as Slim Charles in the HBO series "The Wire." He currently hosts a radio show on local FM station WKYS, and will star as Snoop Dogg in the upcoming Biggie Smalls biopic Notorious.
