What is a podcast?
A podcast is simply an audio file, typically an MP3 file, available online for downloading via an automatic "feed." Once downloaded, you can then hear the podcast whenever you want from your computer or a portable media player.
How do I download ASCAP Network podcasts?
You will need software such as Apple's iTunes, iPodder or Juice to access the feed. This software is completely free! If you want to make your podcasts portable, you will need to transfer them from your computer to a portable media device such as an iPod.
Clicking the blue button allows you direct access to the feed. You can then copy/paste the URL into the "subscribe" or "add feed" option of your podcast software.

What is RSS?
RSS is an acronym for "Really Simple Syndication". This service provides a summary of our most recent content keeping our members up to date with the information that is important to them.
How do I start using the ASCAP.com RSS feed?
You will need to use a newsreader to access the feed. There are many different versions some are browser based while others are downloadable applications, all allow you to display and subscribe to RSS feeds.
Clicking the orange button allows you to access the feed several ways including:
- Dragging the URL of the RSS feed into your newsreader
- Cutting and pasting the same URL into a new feed in your newsreader
- Certain browsers including Firefox, Opera and Safari automatically pick up RSS feeds
