ASCAP Marks 90th Year with Record Financial Results
  • For 2003, ASCAP’s revenues reached an all-time high of $668 million – a 5.2 per cent increase over the prior year, and the best ever in ASCAP’s history.
  • The Society also reported an all-time low operating expense ratio of 13.9%, one of the lowest operating ratios in the world for a performing right society, and the lowest by far in the U.S.
  • The increase in revenues is attributed to development of new cutting-edge technology such as Mediaguide, ASCAP’s continued focus on cost reduction and its commitment to negotiating the best licensing deals for members.
  • Over the past three years, ASCAP has distributed over $1.6 billion.
  • Detailed information will be made available, along with audited results, in ASCAP’s 2003 Annual Report to be released in the next issue of Playback.
