ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Panel Demystifies Music Licensing for Film/TV/Sports

On October 22nd at Musician's Institute in Los Angeles, ASCAP's Rhythm & Soul team presented the latest in its series of panels dedicated to educating the public about the art and business of songwriting. Titled "How To License Your Music In TV/Film & Sports: What Are The Benefits?" this panel brought together a constellation of four experts in the field of music licensing: music supervisor Jerry Davis of Fox Sports/Fox Sports Net, entertainment attorney Joshua P. Binder Esq., Brad Rains - Sr. Director Creative Services at Bug Music/Windswept and Richard Walters of Smash Music & Film Distribution. ASCAP's Jennifer Harmon moderated. An audience of hundreds listened on as the panelists discussed the process of placing music in TV shows, film projects and sporting events. The panel was followed by a Q&A session.
