Melody Gardot's Thrilling Success

MELODY GARDOT, accomplished jazz musician, songwriter and singer, developed her love for music through recovery: suffering from a terrible accident, she found that music was the best therapy. As a child, she took music lessons, learning to play piano, but it was not until her time in the hospital that she learned to play the guitar and write songs. Gardot transformed after this, releasing tracks while still in the hospital and moving on to do her first studio album. Today, she is a critically acclaimed artist, most known for her innovative mix of jazz and blues. Gardot's latest album, My One and Only Thrill, reached #42 on the Billboard Top 200 chart and has been on the Billboard Traditional Jazz Chart for over a year, an impressive achievement considering all but one of the cuts are original. The albumreached the top five on a number of European album charts as well. She continues to grow and evolve her sound, working with other talented collaborators, such as Grammywinning producer Larry Klein. She also advocates for music therapy, using her own experience as an example of its immense power to help and heal.
