Genelec's new 6010a bi-amped active monitors ($375 each) are designed to offer computer users and surround engineers big sound in a small footprint—especially when mated to the 5040a active subwoofer ($750). At 7 1/8" x 4 3/4" x 4 1/2" (H x W x D), the 6010a is the company's smallest speaker to date. The 6010a's 3" bass driver and 3/4" high-frequency driver are each powered by 12-watt internal amplifiers to provide 74 Hz - 18 kHz (±2.5 dB) frequency response; adding a 5040 a to the system takes the low range down to 35 Hz.
